Lakshana, the model from Malluwood, made her debut as Vijay’s sister in Sivakaasi. Seeing hermodelling stills, director Perarasu summoned her to Chennai for a screen test and told her to act out two scenes. He okayed her but she was advised against accepting the role, that of a sister, because she would then get branded as a sister. She was encouraged by Perarsu and Vijay.
