Ravishing Beauty Parvathi Omankuttan Miss World Runner Up

Parvathy Omanakuttan

After an eight year gap India created waves at the Miss World pageant. Parvathy Omanakuttan was crowned the first runner-up at the Miss World 2008 pageant in Johannesburg. This south Indian beauty gave it her best shot and has definitely left her mark. Right from the moment she strutted down the ramp for Lecoanet Hemant during Delhi Fashion week I knew this woman was going places. She was ‘the’ showstopper on day one. Through her preparation for the Miss World pageant I feel like she might have lost some of her natural charm. The entire Indian population waited with baited breath until India was the last one to make it to the semi-finals. One she reached the top five I assumed India would win. But when the question posed to her left room for such a wide interpretation i think that’s where things went sour. Describe your journey……. that probably means your personal journey as an beautiful Indian woman in a male dominated society. Of course Parvathy chose to give the typical air headed third world country - Mahatma Gandhi speech. Although when Priyanka Chopra was crowned Miss World the question posed to her was who the person was living today she admired the most to which she promptly replied Mother Teresa. Of course in the year 2000 Mother Teresa was no more and I assumed India was out of the running. But Priyanka went on the win the coveted crown
