Samuthirakani to direct Mohanlal once again

Tamil director and actor Samuthirakani (Subramaniapuram and Nadodigal) has made a fantastic impression in Malayalam with Mohanlal’s Shikar, which has been declared a super hit.

Mohanlal himself has praised Samuthirakani, who plays a very positive Telugu Naxalite leader who gets killed by Andhra Police in a fake encounter (shades of Azad killing?).
In the film he recites a Telugu poem in praise of Naxalites, which has become a craze with the audiences.
After the success of Shikar, Samuthirakani has a lot of offers pouring in from Malayalam cinema.
Says Samuthirakani: “ I loved doing Shikar, which got me a lot of accolades including an offer from Lal ettan (Mohanlal), to direct him for a future project. I have accepted the offer and will direct Mohanlal sometime next year, as immediate priorities are to direct a Tamil film with my friend Sasikumar as hero.”
